RAAMOS DEVELOPMENT FORUM (RDF) is a non-profit Organization (NGO), with a focus on working with persons living with HIV&AIDS, the widow, orphans and other vulnerable teenage youth(s). It is dedicated to promoting educational and health programs for the OVC and youths in total dire need. It also seeks to facilitate the youths to initiate create income generating projects especially those born and grown up with the virus, are at the same time orphans, have lost much hope in life and as we all as creating development initiatives to employ them.
We believe everyone deserves the best chance in life. That’s why we support the most vulnerable children, youths, widows, and their families living in poverty and working with them to help reduce poverty and meet their basic needs.
Brief History
RDF started its operations to respondents to the needs of Orphans, Widows and Vulnerable Children (OWVC) and Youths who were destitute because of the AIDS epidemic. We have currently identified a total of 160 widow, 37 youths and children in total dire need. At the present moment we have 43 children (13boys and 30 girls) with ages ranging from 1 month to 21 years.
Definition Of The Organization Name
The word Raamos was derived from the names of executive committee's selected by the group members and is as below;
R- stands for Rashida, Rasulu.
A- stands is for Aziku, Abdu
A- stands for Arike
M- Stands for mahamoud and
S- stands for Sharif
